What's Open/Closed For July 4th In Wilton

WILTON, Conn. – With the Fourth of July coming up, several places around Wilton will be closed or operating on a different schedule. Here's what you need to know before heading out Thursday.

Also, fireworks are scheduled for about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Parking will be available for $20 per car at the high school at the Wilton High Athletic Field, Cider Mill School, tennis courts, Board of Education and Route 7/School Road. The rain date is July 5. 

What's Closed? ? Wilton Town Hall (also closed Friday) ? Wilton Public Library ? Wilton Transfer Station (Open  8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; Closed Saturday) ? Post Offices ? Most banks (call ahead) ? All state and federal offices

What’s Open?

The Wilton Family Y will hold an open house with the entire facility open and free to the public. Visitors can enjoy the 50-meter outdoor pool, the pond and beach at Kiwanis Park, the children’s outdoor splash pool, fitness center, gym and outdoor playgrounds. The Pool/Pond/Splash Pool will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Fitness Center Room will be open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also, most supermarkets, restaurants, bars, liquor stores and other retail locations are open. However, these places may be operating on a Sunday schedule or special holiday hours or may be closed. Call ahead before heading out to any of these establishments.

Trains If you’re planning a trip via Metro-North, trains will operate on a Sunday schedule on July 4, with several additional trains to get you to and from the annual Macy’s fireworks display. Trains will operate on a Saturday schedule on Friday and Saturday with extra service throughout the day.
