WILTON, Conn. Its a weekend of theater in Wilton at both the high school and the Wilton Playshop. Here are some of the other events happening May 18 to 20:
Friday, May 18
Oliver Continues: 8 to 11 p.m. The stage is set and the musical continues. The students of Wilton High School perform their second night of Oliver in the Clune Center. The last show is Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. Wilton High School, 395 Danbury Road, Wilton.
Stage version: 8 to 10 p.m. Steel Magnolias, made famous as a movie by an all-star cast of Dolly Parton, Daryl Hannah and Julia Roberts (to name a few), is being performed on stage at the Wilton Playshop. Shows are May 18, 19, 20, 24, 25 and 26, at 8 p.m., except Sunday at 2 p.m. The Wilton Playshop, 15 Lovers Lane, Wilton.
Saturday, May 19
Bag it at the Tag Sale: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Mothers of Preschoolers will be holding the annual tag sale at Hope Church. Lots of baby and kids items, toys, clothes, household goods and much more will be on sale. Hope Church 240 Wolfpit Road, Wilton.
Celebrate the Trees: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The annual Norwalk-Wilton Tree Festival features exhibits by local tree organizations, along with other outdoor-oriented organizations. The festival includes free hamburgers and drinks to all festival guests. Cranbury Park, 300 Grumman Ave., Norwalk.
Inside the Style Section: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham has been chronicling fashion trends and high-society charity soirées for the Times Style section for decades. The film Bill Cunningham New York follows his life. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road, Wilton.
Sunday, May 20
Break out the Watercolors: 1 to 4 p.m. Weir Farm National Historic Site invites artists of all ages to join the fun with a few hours of painting with watercolors. The art supplies are at the park and participation is free. Weir Farm National Park, 735 Nod Hill Road, Wilton.
Drift Down the Hudson: 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. Author Mike Freeman comes to the Wilton Library to share his newest book Drifting: Two Weeks on the Hudson. Books will be available for signing and purchase after the talk. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road, Wilton.
