WILTON, Conn. Celebrate your mother this weekend. Give her a nice bouquet, a back rub or a craft made at the Wilton Library. Here are some of the other events happening in Wilton May 11-13:
Friday, May 11
Make Mommy Crafts: 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children of all ages are encouraged to go to the Wilton Library to participate in a day of crafts geared toward celebrating Mothers Day on Sunday.
Learn the Literature: 10:30 a.m. to noon. The second in a two-day series led by Ben Van Vechten on selections of his choosing.
Walk for Cancer Awareness: starts at 6 p.m. Students, parents, survivors and children are coming together at the Wilton High School Track. The relay will last all night and into the morning.
Saturday, May 12
Take a Walk With Love: 2-3 p.m. Bonnie Tremante will lead a walk at Weir Farm discussing love letters exchanged between artist Julian Alden Weir and his fiancée, Anna Dwight Baker.
Childrens Animal Book Group: 3-4 p.m. Kids from fourth to sixth grade will meet at the Wilton Library to discuss the book My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George.
Sunday, May 13
A look behind the doors: 2-3 p.m. Weir Farms 2012 visiting artist, Xiomáro, will discuss his experiences photographing the Weir House, Weir Studio and Young Studio to document the present state of the structures prior to completion of the restoration project now underway.
