Whats Happening in Wilton This Weekend

WILTON, Conn. – It’s a weekend of the community and arts in Wilton with the annual Clean Up Day and a first film festival at Trackside. Here is what’s happening the weekend of March 29 to April 1:

Friday

• Beyond Words Silent Auction: 7 to 11 p.m. – At the Wilton Library’s annual fundraising silent auction guests will find a transformed library as they place bids, eat food and enjoy the library.

• “Trackademy” Awards: 7 to 11 p.m. – It’s Trackside Teen Center’s first annual short film festival. Wilton students can submit short films and possibly walk away with an award in one of many categories, including “Best Comedy” and  “Best Drama.”

Saturday

• Wilton Community Clean Up Day: 9 a.m. to noon – Join in the efforts to pick up litter around town and the Norwalk River Valley. The day begins at the Town Green, where bags and gloves will be available.

Sunday

• Easter Music Program: 10 a.m. to noon – The Wilton Baptist Church will celebrate Palm Sunday with its annual music program.

• In the Footsteps of Weir Farm: 2 to 3 p.m. – See behind the scenes in the buildings of Wilton’s national historic site, Weir Farm. Xiomáro, the site's visiting artist, will speak on his photography project of the restoration project.

• Aspects of Poetry with Bill Ziegler: 3 to 4:30 p.m. – Explore the elements of poetry with poet Bill Ziegler at the Wilton Library. He will discuss free verse and the importance of form.
