WILTON, Conn. Local government is in full swing this week with several meetings discussing the 2013 budget. Here is whats happening the week of March 19 to 22:
Monday
9:30 a.m.: The Miller-Driscoll Elementary School PTA gathers for a regular meeting at the Miller-Driscoll School.
7:30 p.m.: The Wilton Board of Selectmen is holding its regular meeting at the Wilton Town Hall Room B. The 2013 fiscal year budget is on the agenda.
Tuesday
10:30 a.m.: Susan Bauerfeld continues her review of parenting books at the Wilton Library. The book for March is "The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Childs Developing Mind, Survive Everyday Parenting Struggles, and Help Your Family Thrive" by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson.
7 p.m.: The second talk in the Wilton Library lecture series on Islam will take place. Imam Dawood Yasin will speak about Islam, with a special focus on examining the concept of jihad and the sanctity of life as formulated in the Quran and other Islamic texts.
7:30 p.m.: The Wilton Board of Finance is holding its regular meeting at Wilton Town Hall Room A. The 2012 fiscal year status and the 2013 fiscal year will be discussed.
Wednesday
9 a.m.: Take a bus trip into the city with the Wilton Library to see the Frick Collection, which has a collection of Renoir and Meissen Porcelain on display. Lunch will be at the Asia Societys Garden Café and is included in the $82 fee.
7:30 p.m.: The Wilton Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance are meeting at the Town Hall to discuss the 2013 fiscal year town budget.
Thursday
4 p.m.: Children are welcome to a Shakespeare workshop put on at the Wilton Library with the Westport Playhouse featuring language and theater games.
7 p.m.: The Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps is holding a Hands Only CPR program at the Wilton Library for Wilton residents over the age of 18.
7 p.m.: The Wilton Board of Education is holding its regular meeting in the Wilton High School Professional Library.
