WILTON, Conn. An Ohio man was arrested in Wilton on charges of assaulting a co-worker. Wilton Police Lt. Donald Wakeman gave the following account of the incident: David Leroy Trout, 40, of Urbana, Ohio, and a fellow employee of ACW Tree Service of Ridgefield pulled their truck over on Olmstead Road to check on the breaks when a disagreement broke out. Trout punched his 30-year-old co-worker to the ground and kicked him several times before leaving him on the side of the road.
The victim was able to hail a passing car and police were alerted. The victim went to Norwalk Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Trout was due in court Monday, Dec. 19.

- The mailbox wars continued Thursday, Dec. 15, through Saturday, Dec. 17, on Linden Tree Road. Four mailboxes were reported vandalized on the 15th and a fifth was reported stolen between the evening of the 16th and morning of the 17th. Wakeman said mailbox vandalism and theft have gone up significantly this past year. He asks residents to inform the police as soon as they are aware of acts of vandalism.
- Stamford resident Ruth Mbwa-Pitho, 27, was charged with the theft of baby wipes worth $2.99 from the Wilton CVS. She is due in court on Thursday, Dec. 29.
- Former Wilton resident Ashley Hunter, 24, was charged with violation of her probation from a 2008 narcotics arrest. Hunter posted a $50,000 bond and is due in court Wednesday, Dec. 28.
