Suspect in Wilton Slaying Held on Suicide Watch

WILTON, Conn. — A public defender representing the Wilton man suspected of killing his father two weeks ago asked to have a not-guilty plea entered on behalf of his client at a court hearing in Stamford Tuesday.

But a plea for Aaron Ramsey, 22, won't be entered until he undergoes further psychiatric evaluation and returns to court June 8. Ramsey will be kept on suicide watch until then.

"He's devastated over what happened," Ramsey's public defender Howard Ehring said after the hearing.

Ramsey's friends and family were in the courtroom, including Ramsey's mother. Ramsey's brother wore a No. 83 Wilton Warriors football jersey, the same number Ramsey wore in high school. No friends or family members commented.

Ramsey is suspected of killing his father, Edward, 73, at their Signal Hill Road Home on May 3.
