WILTON, Conn. Severe thunderstorms in Wilton knocked out power to hundreds of homes and felled trees and power wires Thursday evening.
Trees and wires were down and blocking traffic on Ridgefield Road near Wee Burn Lane, Wilton Police Capt. John Lynch said. Volunteers from the Community Emergency Response Team were called to help with traffic. A tree fell on a car on Millstone Road, but no one was in the car, Lynch said.
A tree and wires were down on Vista Road and Heather Lane, blocking the road, Lynch said.
About 725 customers in Wilton were without power, about 9 percent of the towns customers, Connecticut Light & Power reported as of 9 p.m.
