More Than 900 Wilton Homes Out Of Power; Roads Blocked

WILTON, Conn. – More than 950 customers in Wilton remain without power Thursday after an overnight wind and rain storm knocked down trees and power lines throughout town.

As of 10 a.m., Connecticut Light and Power reported 952 customers in Wilton without power. Several streets in Wilton are blocked due to felled trees or power lines. This includes portions of Deforest, Skunk, Nod Hill and Pine Ridge roads, Chestnut Hill Lane and St. John’s Road. Olmstead Hill Road at Saunders Drive is impassable, according to the Wilton Police Capt. John Lynch.

CL&P spokesman Frank Poirot said the utility is working on restoration and damage assessments.
