NORWALK, Conn. After being in the Whitman family since 1955, Norwalk's Silvermine Tavern and the land it sits on is for sale for $2.795 million.
Its just time to move on, Realtor Ileana Barns-Slavin said when asked why the family was selling. The market has begun to turn around and she said they feel positive about being able to sell the property.
Built over 200 years ago, the property includes the tavern, the old mill, coach house, gatehouse, and country store, according to the propertys website.
The property is listed twice, once as the full property with all five buildings, and a second time with just the restaurant, inn and parking area.
Barns-Slavin said this division was done to help promote a sale, though the Whitmans would prefer to sell everything.
The Silevrmine neighborhood straddles the boarder of Norwalk, Wilton and New Canaan.
