WILTON, Conn. – Friends of Virginia “Ginny” Rico, longtime principal of Wilton’s Cider Mill School, will be able to pay their respects Friday and Saturday, Wilton school officials announced.
Rico, whose been in education for more than 30 years, died Wednesday. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday beginning at noon at St. Mary’s Church, 183 High Ridge Ave., Ridgefield. A private, family-only burial will follow the service.
Much of Rico’s career was spent at Cider Mill, where she served as principal since 2002. Before that, she had worked as an assistant principal at the school since 1997. From 1985 until her appointment as an assistant principal, Rico taught and was a technology instructional leader at the school.
