WILTON, Conn. -- The family of late Norwalk resident William B. Chariott recently sold 15.5 acres of woodlands in Wilton to the Aspetuck Land Trust at a reduced cost of $100,000 in his memory, according to the Wilton Bulletin.
The land, which abuts the Weston town line, has an abundance of trees, birds, wildlife, small streams and walking trails, the Bulletin said. Chariott received the two parcels of land on Honey Hill from a relative in the early 1970s and passed it to his sisters when he died in 2001, said the Wilton Bulletin.
Aspetuck Land Trust Executive Director David Brant said the trust will keep the land, sold at a very discounted price, as passive open space, added the Wilton Bulletin.
