Accused Wilton Thief Shows a Change of Heart

UPDATE - The charges as reported below, were dropped by Town and Country Wednesday.

WILTON, Conn. – Wreaths and shrubs worth over $200 were stolen from the Town and Country store in Wilton a week ago, and then returned.

“The gentleman actually returned [the stolen items] to the business,” Wilton Police Lt. Donald Wakeman said. “He brought them back and returned them after hours. He just returned them.”

Despite his change of heart, the accused was arrested and given a Thursday, Dec. 8, court date. The theft was reported to the Wilton Police Department on Nov. 28.
