From noon to 3 p.m. activities for the entire family will take over the Y. There will be a birds exhibition, a visit from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers mascot and a nutrition tips session. And families can have an ID made for their children at the New York Life Amber Alert booth.
The entire event is free and open to all members of the public, not just members of the Y.
The Wilton Fishing Club is also hosting its Trout Fishing Derby at the Kiwanis Pond. The derby costs $10 per person at the gate for unlimited fishing.
The Ys focus is on youth development and healthy living as well as prevention of childhood obesity, said Wilton Family Y Executive Director Bob McDowell. As part of the Y's commitment to strengthen our community by addressing critical health needs, Healthy Kids Day encourages families to commit to keeping the body and mind active during summer.
