WILTON, Conn. St. Patrick's Day isn't the only thing happening March 17 in Wilton. Trackside Teen Center is also hosting its first Battle of the Bands.
"Depending on how it goes, it may become a biannual or even quarterly event," said Brett Beatty, the teen center's program director.
Eleven young bands from all around southern Connecticut will battle it out between noon and 5:30 p.m.
The lineup includes Until Euphoria of Norwalk; Friends of Enemies of Fairfield; Run on the Sun of Greenwich; Pampalibros and Borrowed Glory of Weston; and Wilton bands ADD123, Banana Riot, Downstairs Mixup, Next Generation, Sentinel and State of Mind.
The bands range from middle school- to high school-age groups competing for prizes such as endorsements from Black Market Customs, a T-shirt contract and gift cards, among other things.
Tickets for the Battle of the Bands are available on Tracksides website for $12 and will be available at the door for $15. For more band and prize information, visit the Trackside website, email Beatty or call 203-834-2888.
