Wilton Newcomers Set Up Holiday Sales

WILTON, Conn. – With the holiday season fast approaching, the Wilton Newcomers Club will be hosting several events and fundraisers.

For the second year in a row, the proceeds of the sale of the club's ornaments will be donated to the Wilton Historical Society. “We are thrilled to support the Historical Society and their work to preserve the unique heritage of Wilton,” said Katie Cunningham, co-head of fundraising for the Newcomers.

The ornaments are shaped as acorns and were made by Wilton resident Laurie Davis. Ornaments will be sold at two family events.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Wilton Historical Society will hold the Newcomers Winter Family Fun Festival. Children and their parents will get a sneak peak at the traditional model train exhibit, decorate homemade gingerbread cookies and take photos with Santa. Registration is required with a $10 fee per family, and the deadline for registration is Nov. 30.

The second event, also on Dec. 3, is a Santa Portrait Fundraiser at the Babycat Milkbar, where children can have a professional portrait taken with Santa by Wilton resident Andrea Topalian of Moments by Andrea. Proceeds will benefit the Wilton Interfaith Fund while proceeds from ornament sales will benefit the Wilton Historical Society.

Ornaments will also be sold outside the Village Market on Monday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 10, as well as at the historical society throughout the holiday season.
