Wilton Man Will Be Honored at Democrat Dinner

WILTON, Conn. – Longtime Wilton resident Ernest Loser will be honored at the first Outstanding Democrat Awards Dinner on March 15 at Trackside Teen Center.

“As this is the first of what will be an annual event, it is fitting that our first honoree is Ernest Loser – a Wiltonian of integrity and character who serves as an excellent example of that which every elected or appointed official in our town should strive to achieve,” said John Kalamarides, chair of the Wilton Democratic Town Committee.

Loser received two Purple Hearts for his actions as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II. Loser moved to Wilton in the mid-1990’s and “and immediately became involved as a volunteer in our town,” said Karen Birck, Wilton Board of Education secretary.

He served on the Water Pollution Control Authority and the Board of Assessment Appeals between 1997 and 2002.

“Ernie’s entire life is one of extraordinary accomplishment,” Birck said, “and I encourage all Wiltonians to join us as we honor his lifelong community service and patriotism.”
