WILTON, Conn. – The Carnival of Venice may have passed, but Wilton residents can experience a Venetian-style masquerade during this year’s Beyond Words benefit for the Wilton Library next month.
On the night of April 5, the library will be transformed into a Venetian masquerade complete with decorative masks and Italian cuisine provided by Luca Wine Bar & Italian Seafood. A live auction will be led by Jon Ellenthal. A silent online auction will be held as well.
“Wilton Library is such a gem in our community,” benefit co-chairwoman Michele Klink said. “Our annual Beyond Words benefit lets us celebrate this wonderful institution and raise money to keep it the stellar resource that it is for Wilton.”
The online auction, which begins this month, will allow residents to support the library whether they attend the event or not, said Anne Rowlands, the library’s director of development.
Some items up for grabs in the silent auction include a one-week stay at Villa Maya in Mexico, orchestra seats and backstage passes to “The Phantom of the Opera,” Red Sox versus Yankee tickets, two tickets to any opera at the Metropolitan Opera, and more.
The online auction will end on the night of the event.
Beyond Words is scheduled for April 5 from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets range from $150 to $500 per person, with opportunities to buy tables that include special parking and amenities. Tickets can be purchased online, by mail, at the library’s circulation desk or by calling Anne Rowlands at 203-762-3950, Ext. 216.
Anyone interested in being an event sponsor or contributing to the silent auction should contact Anne Rowlands at email@example.com or 203-762-3950, ext. 216.
