WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton Family YMCA has released its listing of new programs and clubs for children of all ages.
In the Creative Artists program, children will be introduced to famous artists using various mediums including paint, clay, oil pastels and collage. Classes will be held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. for children ages 3 to 4 years old. Wednesday classes cost $160 for members and $260 for nonmembers. Thursday classes cost $140 for members and $240 for nonmembers.
The Kindergarten Readiness class will help you child prepare for school by building a foundation of literacy skills through matching sounds and symbols, journals, rhyming and phonics. Classes for 4-year-olds will be held Mondays from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. and cost $120 for members and $220 for nonmembers. The 5-year-old class will be held Tuesdays from 1:15 to 2:25 p.m.
The Little Explorers Club for kids ages 3- to 4-years-old will meet Fridays from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. and offer hands-on activities and experiments. Preschoolers will learn about gardening and composting, protecting our environment, animal habitats and life cycles. The cost for Little Explorers registration is $160 for members and $260 for non-members.
For children ages 8 and up, the Wilton Family Y will also have an archery club. Classes will be held for beginner, intermediate and competitive levels.
