WILTON, Conn. - After the Halloween trick-or-treating was canceled in Wilton came word of the postponement of other Halloween events in town.
Due to problems caused by the snowstorm Saturday, the events put on by the Chamber of Commerce were postponed. The Pumpkin Parade and Trick-or-Treating was moved to Saturday, Nov. 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Halloween Hustle 5K was postponed until Saturday, Nov. 6, with registration starting at 9 a.m. and the run at 10.
However, the snow did not keep the chamber from announcing the winners of its inaugural Scarecrow Fest.
The five winners were:
Most Traditional: Wilton High School with Best Buddies
Funniest: Wilton Total Care with Measure twice/cut once
Scariest: The Richards family's Scary Santa
Most Creative: Daisy Scouts with Craisy for Daisies
Best Overall: Realty Seven's witch
Each winner received a $100 chamber gift certificate, good for use at all chamber businesses.
