Wilton Actor Makes Television Debut Sunday

WILTON, Conn. – Wilton actor R.J. Kelly makes the his television debut Sunday when "Political Animals" premieres at 10 p.m. on the USA Network.  

"Political Animals" is a six-part miniseries from acclaimed television writer, producer, director Greg Berlanti (Brothers & Sisters, Everwood, Dawson's Creek). The show follows Secretary of State Elaine Barrish (Sigourney Weaver) as she attempts — for the second time — to run for president. She is juggling the demands of Washington with her dysfunctional family, which includes her ex-husband, the former president (Ciarán Hinds), and an alcoholic mother (Ellen Burstyn). Kelly plays Agent Sam, who serves as the former president's personal Secret Service detail.

Kelly has been featured in a number of commercials, including spots for Ally Bank, Lowe's, Trident Layers Gum, Hershey Chocolate and Sony PlayStation. 

Kelly, married and the father of two, is a Darien native and a former high school and college hockey player. He continues to play recreationally in a men's league.
