WILTON, Conn. A much-needed vacation, changing government and low interest rates for home mortgages were some of the things on the minds of people in Wilton when we spoke with them Thursday.
Karen Turner, who works at the Open House in Wilton Center, was thinking about her upcoming vacation to her familys compound in Rhode Island.
We go every year, said Turner, who lives in Norwalk. We go with our kids and just kind of relax.
Brian McGrath, 37, also of Norwalk, was thinking of getting back into relaxation mode this weekend. He plans to head to the beach to chill out.
It's a light work week and everyone is just waiting to go, he said.
Kelly Bozucco of Stamford is also excited to go to Pompano Beach, Fla. with her children. She has nothing exciting in mind but to find a good place to relax.
Im only thinking about eating and sleeping, she said. Her father, John Dominick, 65, who works in Wilton, wont join them as hes in the final stages of treatment for lung cancer. Hes feeling better these days, though he wishes he could go with them.
Tom Edge, 69, of Wilton, had his mind on making sweeping changes in Washington, feeling thats the only way to improve Americas course. For the politicians, Its all about keeping their jobs, said Edge, a lifelong Wilton resident. We need to vote them all out in November.
Alice Morgan, a Realtor with the Higgins Group, wonders why more people are not taking advantage of low interest rates and buying homes.
Its really a great buying opportunity, Morgan said as she worked with the lights dimmed in her office. Morgan added that she enjoyed Wiltons Fourth of July celebration, even though she had to deal with some rain as the fireworks show started on Wednesday evening.
