WILTON, Conn. -- Our Lady of Fatima in Wilton will honor its pastor, the Rev. Michael Palmer, as he celebrates the golden jubilee of his priesthood Sunday, according to the church's website.
Palmer, 76, will celebrate a Mass at noon on May 26, the actual 50th anniversary of his first Mass as a priest. He has served all 50 years in the Diocese of Bridgeport, 36 of those years as the pastor at Our Lady of Fatima.
After the Mass, the parish will host a reception from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the school's gymnasium. All are invited to attend, including Palmer's family and friends.
Palmer will be arranging his retirement this year with the diocese. He is only the fourth pastor in the Wilton church's history.
