To the Editor,
On behalf of the Wilton Conservation Commission, I would like to thank all of the volunteers who enthusiastically participated in the Townwide Community Cleanup Day held last Saturday, April 6. I would like to particularly mention the outstanding efforts from the Wilton High School, Wilton Kiwanis Club, Wilton Republican & Democrat Town Committees, Cub Scouts and the Wilton Land Trust, whose volunteers joined commissioners and other town officials in this annual undertaking.
Approximately 75 people came out to help on a brisk, sunny morning, and we were able to collect a substantial amount of litter from our streets, parks and riverbanks.
I would like to further encourage everyone to periodically help out to keep our neighborhoods, streets, parks and ball fields clean. Please always carry out what you carry in, and if you see litter left behind, please be a good neighbor and pick up what you can.
Support for our Cleanup Day is proof that Wilton’s residents are proud to live in a litter-free community and are willing to get their hands dirty to keep it looking great every year!
Sincerely, Dan Berg, Chairman Wilton Conservation Commission
