Letter: Wilton Thanks Volunteers for Cleanup

WILTON, Conn. — The following letter is from Kristen Begor, chairman of the Wilton Conservation Commission:

On behalf of the Wilton Conservation Commission I would like to thank all of the volunteers who enthusiastically participated in the townwide Community Cleanup day held last Saturday, March 31, despite the cold and rainy weather.

I would like to particularly mention the outstanding efforts from the Wilton Kiwanis Club, Wilton Rotary Club, Wilton Public Schools, Wilton Republican & Democratic Town Committees, Cub Scouts, Trout Unlimited and the Wilton Land Trust, whose volunteers joined commissioners and other town officials in this annual undertaking.

Approximately 80 participants were able to collect a substantial amount of litter from our streets, parks and riverbanks.

I would like to further encourage individuals to still take the time to clean up their neighborhoods. Support for this event is proof that Wilton’s residents are proud to live in a litter-free community and are willing to get their hands dirty to keep it looking great every year.
