Motyka’s fourth installment of the memoir-writing class will meet from 1-3 p.m. every Wednesday beginning Sept. 30 in the meeting room of the Greenwich Library, 101 W. Putnam Ave. Registration is required and opens at 9 a.m. on Sept. 9.
The program provides a supportive environment designed to allow writers to explore the significance of the people, places and events in their lives. The class will teach several techniques to help writers organize those thoughts into a polished personal narrative.
Topics include: how to look at yourself as a narrator of stories, how to capture the richness of place, how to plumb your intersection with history, and how to understand the role of other people in your stories.
Registration for the class can be done using the library’s online calendar/registration system at greenwichlibrary.org or by calling Michele Martin at (203) 625-6533 to register with your Greenwich or Perrot Library card number. Information and news on the Greenwich Public Library is also available on its Facebook page.
