WILTON, Conn. Frank C. Ceraso, 87, of Wilton, died March 31 in Norwalk Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1924, in New York City, he was the son of Joseph and Philomena Ceraso. He served in the military during World War II as an ensign in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. Ceraso was a graduate of Queens College. He married his wife, Jean, in 1950 and together they raised a family.
Ceraso joined ITT Continental Baking Co. in 1948 and worked for the company for more than 30 years, achieving the position of vice president of national and military sales. He then joined Kraft Foods in 1980 and retired in 1989.
Ceraso was active in the civil rights movement as a member of the Urban League and worked with the Rev. Jesse Jacksons Operation Bread Basket in Chicago.
He also traveled extensively with his family, visiting all 50 states and 62 countries. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club, the American Legion and NAUS.
Ceraso is survived by his wife, Jean, his daughters, Cynthia (Michael) Marcus and Lorna (Peter) Huber, and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilton.
