WILTON, Conn. Holiday traditions come from all over, and this year the Wilton Library is celebrating a Celtic Christmas.
The festivities are Monday, Dec. 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the library and are open to all children. Crafts, stories, music and food from Ireland, Scotland, Britain and Wales will be shared with all.
Leslie Keogh, a childrens librarian, has set the event up for the second year in a row. She said that this year, while the event is all about Celtic celebrations, it will focus on Irish traditions.
There will be an exhibit on Irish lace, children will learn how to pronounce Bennachtaí na Nollag, or Blessings of Christmas, and get to taste Jelly Babies.
As a craft, Keogh said, they would be making Christmas crackers, but without the snap.
Space is limited, so registration is required. To register, call the library at 203-762-3950 or go to its website.
