WILTON, Conn. -- The 27th Annual Wilton Community Celebration on Oct. 19 at the Rolling Hills Country Club will be sponsored by Bankwell.
The Wilton Community Celebration is a gala dinner dance with auctions that benefits the Wilton Family Y’s Fund for Community Service.
“We are thrilled that Bankwell will be the event sponsor of our Wilton Community Celebration this year," Wilton Y Executive Director Bob McDowell said in a statement. "Their support is key to the success of this important fundraiser for the Y, which provides resources for so many Y outreach programs such as chronic disease prevention, youth leadership initiatives, services for children with special challenges, and financial assistance for families in need."
This year's theme for the gala is “Jazz It Up in the Big Easy.”
The Wilton Community Celebration recognizes outstanding local volunteers with the Distinguished Citizen Awards. Over the past 27 years, more than 75 individuals, organizations and business have received the honor. This year’s recipients are Erin Woolard and the Wilton Education Foundation.
The Celebration is open to the public, and tickets are $175 per person. About 200 people attend each year, and the event raises more than $60,000 for the Y’s Fund for Community Service.
