WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton Go Green and the Wilton Energy Commission will co-host a presentation on residential energy-saving programs at the Wilton Library on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.

"A Dummy's Guide to Home Energy Upgrades Part 1" is the second presentation in the Wilton Go Green/Wilton Library Association Green Speaker Series. It is free of charge and open to the public.

Representatives from Connecticut Light & Power will discuss the popular residential program, Home Energy Solutions, designed to help people save money on their energy bills.

For those who sign up, HES specialists will come to your home or apartment and provide energy improvement services which include locating and sealing critical air leaks, replacing up to 40 incandescent lights with more efficient bulbs and insulating hot water pipes.

While these services are valued at an average of $1,000, the cost for the HES service is only $75 for homes heated by electricity or natural gas and $99 for homes heated by fuel oil and propane. They are free for those who meet income eligibility guidelines.

The library is located at 137 Ridgefield Road in Wilton.

Call 203-762-3950 or visit the library's website to register.
