Orem's Diner In Wilton Vies For Top Prize In DVlicious Contest

WILTON, Conn. -- Who can resist the cozy booth of a diner? If you’re not drawn in by the often retro ambiance, you’re no doubt driven by the menu, mammoth undertakings filled with pages and pages of comfort food, not to mention unlimited cups of coffee. 

You picked five of the top diners in Fairfield County as part of our continuing DVlicious series. All are being profiled this week with the winner selected at the end of the month. Read on.. and vote.

Been Around Since: The original Orem's opened down the road in 1921. The current building opened in 2003. 

Known For: Orem's is known for its Greek food, especially the chicken souvlaki.

Behind the Scenes: The diner is a staple in the Wilton community, where customers know each other. It's kind of like "Cheers," the owner's daughter said.
