Jazz World, Family, Fans Pay Tribute To Wilton's Dave Brubeck

WILTON, Conn. -- Family, friends and fans paid tribute Saturday to pianist and composer Dave Brubeck, the jazz musician from Wilton who died in December, The Associated Press reported at the website of the Daily Reporter.

Brubeck died Dec. 5, a day before his 92nd birthday, and a private funeral was held near his home in Wilton.

On Saturday, the only Brubeck family-sponsored tribute took place before more than 2,000 people at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, featuring performances by jazz stars Chick Corea, Branford Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Roberta Gambarini, Hilary Kole and more.
