What’s Happening In Wilton This Weekend

WILTON, Conn. – A Wilton Library book sale, fall crafts and an art exhibit highlighting the past are some of the events planned for this weekend in and around Wilton. 

Friday

Wilton Library Tots to Teens Book Sale: Noon to 6 p.m. Wilton Library’s Tots to Teens Book Sale Fundraiser features books for children of all ages all gently used or like-new. Also available are books on tape and CD, DVDs and music CDs. All items are bargain priced. Proceeds benefit the library. The sale continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Items are half price on Sunday.

Wilton High School Girls Volleyball: 4:15 p.m. The Wilton Warriors will host the Stamford High School Black Knights. Wilton High School, 395 Danbury Road.

Saturday

Drop-in Fall Crafts at Wilton Library: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children of all ages can stop by during regular library hours and make a craft to take home.  Made possible by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.

Wilton High School Football:  Noon The Wilton High School Warriors visit Trumbull to play the St. Joseph High School.  St. Joseph High School, 2320 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull.

Lee Taft, “The Speed Guy,” Hosts Athletic Clinic: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Taft, one of the country’s top athletic movement specialists, will participate in the Moore Speed and Athletic Development Clinic at Moore Physical Therapy and Fitness at 37 Danbury Road. The workshop focuses on systems for training athletes with strength coaches, sports coaches, athletic trainers and physical therapists. To register, visit Moore's website or call (203) 307-4600. Building A Future From The Past at Wilton Historical Society:  1 to 4 p.m.  In this exhibit, the Wilton Historical Society and a team of 11 leading architecture firms from throughout the region explore the many ways these historic homes are being preserved, protected and restored while being adapted for life in these modern times.  Curated by New Canaan's Richard Bergmann, and made possible through a $1,000 lead sponsorship from Titus Built of Wilton, the exhibit offers a glimpse into the innovative solutions architects are bringing to antique homes and demonstrates the craftsmanship and viability of homes built 200 years ago.
