WILTON, Conn. – Bands at Trackside, a student playshop show, children reading to pets and outdoor theater are some of the events planned for this weekend in and around Wilton.

Band Night At Trackside Teen Center:  7 p.m.  Broadcast Hearts and Run With Saints and Brett Steinberg will perform. Tickets are $5. Trackside Teen Center, 15 Station Road.

Wilton Summer Student Playshop Presents "Lucky Stiff": 8 p.m. Harry Witherspoon, an unassuming English shoe salesman’s uneventful life takes a dramatic turn when he learns that his uncle, a casino manager from Atlantic City, has been killed by his blind lover and he stands to inherit $6,000,000 – but only if he agrees to take his uncle’s corpse on a trip to Monte Carlo. Otherwise, the money will all go to his uncle’s favorite charity, the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn. In a quest for this inheritance he encounters a host of quirky characters, all in hot pursuit of his uncle’s money. The performance is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Performances will be held Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 5. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children and seniors. Wilton Playshop, 15 Lovers Lane.

Saturday, July 28

Tales to Tails At Wilton Library: 11 a.m. to noon.  The Ridgefield Operation Animal Rescue Therapy Dog Program will be bringing therapy dogs to the library for children to read to them. The use of trained therapy dogs in reading programs can result in children who feel comfortable reading out loud, read more often, attempt more difficult books, and actually look forward to reading. Children must read independently to participate in this program. Registration is required. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
