What To Do in Wilton This Weekend

WILTON, Conn. – Here are a few highlights of things to do in and around Wilton this weekend. See our Events Calendar for more items.

Friday Fiber Fridays at Wilton Historical Society: 10 a.m. to noon. Come to stitch and chat about your handiwork, ask questions, share stories and anything that comes to mind. All are welcome. Come and discover more about the Wilton Historical Society's Fiber Arts while working on your own fiber projects. Knitting, stitching, hooking, crocheting, weaving projects are welcome. Coffee and tea will be served. Host Arlene Parkhurst will be available to untangle your questions. Admission is free for society members and $10 for non-members. Wilton Historical Society, 224 Danbury Road.

Saturday

Great Trains Holiday Exhibit at Wilton Historical Society:  Noon to 4 p.m. The Wilton Historical Society will have its Great Trains holiday exhibit. Come and see a variety of trains. The final day of the exhibit is Jan. 21. Tickets are free for historical society members and $10 for non-members. Wilton Historical Society, 224 Danbury Road.

AARP Driver Safety Program at Wilton Library: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The AARP Driver Safety Program is designed especially for drivers ages 50 and older. This single-session, four-hour course covers the normal changes in vision, hearing and reaction time associated with aging and provides practical techniques on how to adjust to these changes, along with learning to operate vehicles more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. No written or driving tests; classroom only. There will be a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m. Registration is required. The program is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Bring check or cash only. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road. 

Sunday The Connecticut Little Symphony at Wilton Library:  4–5 p.m. The Wilton Library welcomes The Connecticut Little Symphony, a group of professional musicians from Connecticut and New York, who have formed a small chamber music ensemble, truly a ”Little Symphony,” to enrich Fairfield County with performances of chamber music. The following musicians will perform works by Debussy, Rachmaninoff and Thuille: Maxim Pakhomov, piano, Jane Shelly, flute, Dorothy Darlington, oboe, Janet Atherton, clarinet, Ray Guier, horn and Rosemary Dellinger, bassoon. Registration is strongly suggested. Attendees are asked to arrive by 3:50 p.m. to be seated prior to the start of the music. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
