Monday, Feb. 4 Wilton Board of Selectmen: 7:30 p.m. The Board of Selectmen will have a regular meeting. Wilton Town Hall, 238 Danbury Road.
Tuesday, Feb. 5 Wilton Fire Commission: 8 p.m. The Wilton Fire Commission will have a regular meeting. Wilton Town Hall, 238 Danbury Road.
Wednesday, Feb. 6 Wilton Board of Selectmen Budget Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The Wilton Board of Selectmen will discuss the proposed 2013-14 budget. Wilton Town Hall, 238 Danbury Road.
Creation Station at Wilton Library: 4 to 5 p.m. Each week different materials will be available for children in grades K through 5 to make any creation they choose. Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
Thursday, Feb. 7 Epic Poetry with Gerald Weiss at Wilton Library: 10:30 a.m. Through a process known as “Passing Over,” selected passages in Vergil’s Aeneid will be examined for relevance in today’s world – violence, war, justice, fate and destiny, the place of women in society then and now, and the role of Roman Imperial Theology. Friday, Feb. 8 Author Madeline Miller At Wilton Library: 7 p.m. Madeline Miller, author of The Song of Achilles, presents a retelling of the Iliad and the legend of Achilles. Miller has two degrees from Brown University in Latin and Ancient Greek, and has been teaching both for the past nine years. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
The Lounge at Wilton Library: 3:30 p.m. Children in first grade and up are invited to play video games on the Wilton Library’s Nintendo Wii system any time from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Comfortable seating will be available. Caregivers must remain in the building for children under age 12. The room will be open every Friday as long as there is available staff. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
