Monday, Jan. 14 Wilton Library Literary Littles: 2:15 p.m. This program is for independent listeners ages 4-6. This is a story time that provides children with experiences that enrich early literacy. Children will hear stories, watch short films, sing songs and do a craft. This program repeats for six sessions. There will be no session Jan. 21 or Feb. 18. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
Wilton Planning and Zoning Commission: 7:15 p.m. The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a regular meeting. Wilton Town Hall, 238 Danbury Road.
Tuesday, Jan. 15 Tuesday Book Buzz at Wilton Library: 11 a.m.-noon. A Book Buzz conversation will be moderated by one of the Wilton Library’s reference librarians on the third Tuesday of each month. Participants are encouraged to come and chat about one of their most recent favorite reads, or just listen to what others recommend. Registration suggested but not required. Wednesday, Jan . 16 Wilton Board of Finance Public Information Session: 7:30 p.m. The Wilton Board of Finance will meet with the public to discuss the proposed 2013-14 fiscal year budget. Brubeck Room at Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road.
Creation Station at Wilton Library: 4 p.m.-5 p.m. Each week, different materials will be available for children in grades K through five to make any creation they choose. This is the perfect opportunity for children to innovate, communicate and express themselves in a free-form environment. Some materials that may be available are Legos, arts and crafts materials, model cars, Lego Technics, science kits and more. Thursday, Jan. 17 Great Trains Holiday Exhibit at Wilton Historical Society: Noon-4 p.m. The Wilton Historical Society will have its Great Trains holiday exhibit. Come and see a variety of trains. The final day of the exhibit is Jan. 21. Tickets are free for Historical Society members and $10 for non-members. Wilton Historical Society, 224 Danbury Road.
Friday, Jan. 18 "Today" Show Host Hoda Kotb Speaks at Wilton Library: 7 p.m. New York Times bestselling author and "Today" show co-anchor tells the incredible stories of people who, when faced with impossibly challenging or tragic situations, persevere — and even thrive — and asks, What if you, facing a game-changing event or decision right now, could see 10 years into the future? "Ten Years Later" is a firsthand testament to the enduring power of the human spirit. Through inspirational life stories, Kotb shows how adversity can unleash our best qualities: resilience, perseverance, gratitude, empathy and creativity.
