Marion Grodin's Memoir Reflects On Wilton Comedian Dad, Hollywood Life

WILTON, Conn. -- Marion Grodin, daughter of funnyman and Wilton resident Charles Grodin ("Midnight Run," "Beethoven") will discuss her new memoir, "Standing Up: A Memoir of a Funny (Not Always) Life," at the Wilton Library on Dec. 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

In the memoir, Grodin takes a humorous look at her Hollywood childhood, her teenage years of drugs and sex, and her sober adult life on the stand-up circuit.

She shares her experiences and her message that "life can be very good when you kick the habit."

She started her career as a staff writer for two network sitcoms and was later hired by 20th Century Fox, to whom she sold six screen plays. and has been working as a comedian for the past 15 years.

The book will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of Elm Street Books. Registration is encouraged.
