Buckley opened his business in July after working for the past six years for a Fairfield County physical therapy business. He earned a doctorate in physical therapy from Sacred Heart University. Samuel Hopkins, who previously worked with Buckley, has joined him as his business partner and will be on Buckley’s team of physical therapists.
“I’ve always had the professional goal of being my own boss and developing my own brand,’’ Buckley said. “The opportunity presented itself and I ran with it.”
Dynamic Edge's goal is to provide the highest quality of outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation services using state of the art and cutting edge techniques. The difference, Buckley said, is the personal attention clients receive from him and his staff.
“We work in very high-energy environment and I think that is one thing that separates Dynamic Edge from the competition,'' Buckley said. "We don’t like to separate our clients and stick them into private rooms. This setting gives us the ability to work with multiple patients, and still give them a one-on-one experience.”
Part of the Dynamic Edge experience includes cutting edge methods and treatments such as movement screening, dry needling, and the popular Olympic trend of cupping.
“We give very personalized care,” Hopkins said. “It’s not all about the bottom line. We’ll offer them the latest in terms of techniques for rehabilitation. We’re taking courses in the latest procedures to help our patients.”
At Dynamic edge, patients are challenged with the methodical approach to physical therapy. “Everyone is looking to get better instantly, and are disappointed when they don’t get that instant gratification,'' Buckley said. "We like to encourage people to keep moving. In order for them to get better, they have to shut down what’s bothering them but focus on keeping active. It takes time for the body to heal itself, but we want to make it a long-term accomplishment."
Buckley is someone who is all too familiar with getting injured in high school. “I developed a great relationship with my physical therapists and I want my patients to have the same connection,'' he said. He understands the urge to get back to doing the activity his patients love, and it is Dynamic Edge’s goal to achieve that.
Dynamic Edge services a range of clients, helping busy professionals in the early morning, stay-at-home workers in the late morning and afternoon, and high school athletes in the afternoon.
“People don’t even need a prescription from their physician,’’ Hopkins said. “That’s what most people thought and at one time it was true. We offer personalized care for anyone who is dealing with an injury and they just want to get back to their normal activity.”
“Our motto is ‘Your Body, Your Best,’’’ Buckley said. “We want clients to feel comfortable and do what they want to do without holding back. Having that environment and feeling energetic and happy is important.”
