WESTPORT, Conn. Sean Obi scored 18 points and grabbed 29 rebounds Wednesday as Greens Farms Academys boys basketball team extended its school-record winning streak to nine games with a 68-60 victory over Hamden Hall.
Greens Farms improved to 12-3 and 9-3 in the Fairchester Athletic Association with the win over Hamden Hall, which is ranked No. 1 among Class C New England Prep Schools by the national sports website Max Preps. Hamden Hall is 11-3 overall and 7-1 in the league.
Tremont Waters added a career-high 21 points for Greens Farms, and Westports Brien Comey scored 14 and pulled down 13 rebounds. Matt Tate had 13 assists.
Greens Farms rallied from a 38-29 halftime deficit. The Dragons lost to Hamden Hall, 61-54, on Dec. 14. We didnt make any fancy changes at halftime, coach Doug Scott said. We just had a young team mature before our eyes in the second half. Our execution rate went up to a very high level, and we just seemed to have an answer for whatever Hamden Hall hit us with.
