Occupy Weston leader Keith Brooks said he is scheduled to meet Wednesday morning with First Selectman Gayle Weinstein to try to have the issue put on the agenda of the next selectmen’s meeting.
The group wants the selectmen to pass a resolution calling for a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court decision in Citizens United vs. the Federal Election Commission.
If the issue is put on the agenda, all members of Occupy Weston will attend the selectmen’s meeting, Brooks said.
Brooks said 10 Connecticut towns have passed resolutions against the Citizens United ruling and 22 state senators and 88 state representatives have signed a letter calling for Congress to pass a constitutional amendment.
