Woman Scratches Victim When Dispute At New Canaan Business Gets Physical, Police Say

New Canaan Police charged a New York City woman with assault after an argument between business partners Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to 12 Burtis Avenue on a report of a dispute between two parties who are in business together on Tuesday, May 22 at 12:25 p.m.

According to police, the business partners, one of which is Vanessa Duquesnes, 43, had an alleged argument over who owns a certain property associated with the business.

During the reported argument Duquesnes allegedly sratched the victim on the upper back leaving scratch marks, New Canaan Police said.

Duquesnes was given a misdemeanor summons at the scene, charging her with third-degree assault, according to police.

She was released with a June 4 court date, said police.
