Woman Dies From Injuries After House Fire Breaks Out In Shelton

A Shelton woman has died from injuries suffered during a fire at her home on Sunday, March 17.

Barbara Curley, 67, was located inside her home at 22 Florence Drive when police and fire responded to a call of a fire around 3:30 p.m., Sunday, said Shelton Police Det. Christopher Nugent.

Curley was located in the bathroom by Shelton firefighters and removed from the residence, said Nugent.

She was transported to Bridgeport Hospital and treated for her injuries. On Monday, Curley died from her injuries from the fire, Nugent said.

The Shelton Fire Department, Shelton Police Department, Shelton Fire Marshal’s Office with the assistance of the CT State Police Fire and Explosion investigation unit responded to the scene to investigate the incident.

Foul play is not suspected and this fatal fire remains under investigation.
