WESTPORT, Conn. — A 26-year-old woman was arrested on additional charges of using a shoplifting device when stealing from the Homegoods store in Westport last year, police said.
Tamika Davis of New Rochelle, N.Y., was first arrested in March 2015 by the Westport Police Department on charges of stealing merchandise from Homegoods at 1850 Post Road E.
Her vehicle was seized as a result of that arrest, and the Westport police applied for a search warrant to determine whether more evidence of criminal activity was in the vehicle.
Multiple stolen items, including clothing and fraudulent gift cards were located in the vehicle, police said. Also found were bags lined with aluminum and magnetic security tag removers, which are used to defeat store security alarms, police said.
On Wednesday, Davis turned herself in for the active warrant held by Westport police and was charged with possession of a shoplifting device and fifth-degree larceny. She was released on $2,500 bond for a court date of March 9.
