WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Westport man was arrested on drunken-driving charges after a multi-car accident Nov. 6 on South Compo Road, police said.
At the scene of the crash, officers found there were no injuries, and began speaking with the drivers involved, police said. Officers determined that Brian Meyer, 23, of Westport, caused the crash, police said. They detected an odor of alcohol on his breath and said his speech was slurred, police said.
After failing a field sobriety tests, Meyer was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive in a proper lane, alice said.
At police headquarters, he submitted to breathalyzer test, with results of .170 and .182, both of which are more than twice the legal limit, police said.
Meyer posted $500 bond and was issued a court date of Nov. 16 at Norwalk court.
