Andrew Kindt, 40, of Kings Highway South, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and risk of injury to a child, as there were two juveniles in the home at the time, police said.

Westport police were dispatched to the home around 11 p.m. Dec. 24, after they received a 911 hang up call. Responding officers approached the home and reported they saw Kindt snorting cocaine from the kitchen table.

Once in the home, officers said Kindt swept the remaining narcotics and paraphernalia into his pocket, police said. He later admitted to the cocaine use, saying the drug was given to him by a friend, police said.

The substance field tested as cocaine, police said.

Kindt was taken into custody and held on $5,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 27, police said.
