Suspects Nabbed After Restaurant Deliveryman Robbed In Nassau County, Police Say

Two men suspected of robbing a restaurant deliveryman on Long Island have been arrested, according to police.

At 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, a 51-year-old man was delivering Chinese food on Lowell Street in New Cassel when he was met by two unknown men, said Nassau County Police.

The men forcibly took an undisclosed amount of cash and a phone from the deliveryman before fleeing in an unknown direction, according to police.

The victim was taken to a local area hospital for treatment for contusions to his face and other non-life threatening injuries. said Nassau County Police.

Following an investigation, on Tuesday, Aug. 13, Brandon Andrews, 22, a homeless man, was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted robbery, according to police. He was previously arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead.

On Wednesday, Aug. 28, Akash Multani, 19, also homeless, was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted robbery and second-degree assault, police said. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 8/29/2019. A photo of Multani has not yet been released.
