WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport police arrested a 44-year-old Stamford man on charges of writing six bad checks worth over $80,000 to Lux Bond & Green in town, police said Monday.
Hakan Basaran was arrested on an active warrant for seven counts of issuing bad checks after he turned himself in on Wednesday, July 13, police said.
Basaran is charged with writing the six bad checks to Lux Bond and Green for over $80,000 between August 2014 and October 2015, according to police.
Westport Police Detective George Taylor conducted a lengthy investigation into the suspect, culminating in the warrant, police said.
Basaran was released on $25,000 cash bond, police said. He has a court date in Norwalk on Monday, July 25.
