Marine Veteran Sworn In As Newest Weston Police Officer

WESTON, Conn. — Officer Jon Marsili, a U.S. Marine who served tours of duty in Afghanistan, recently was sworn into the ranks of the Weston Police Department during a ceremony at the Weston Town Hall.

Marsili will attend the Milford Police Academy for six months for his official police training followed by 10 weeks of field training with the Weston Police Department before he is placed on patrol.

A large gathering of Marsili's friends and family attended the Oct. 9 ceremony, along with Weston and Westport police officers and members of the Weston Police Commission.
