The department's Long Island Sound Marine Bureau's Marine 8 rescue boat answered a call Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 6:54 p.m. from Glen Cove Harbor Patrol in regards to a missing person on a jet ski in the vicinity of Bayville Beach, Nassau County Police said.

Marine 8 reportedly conducted a search and located a 45-year-old man adrift in the Long Island Sound shipping lane on a disabled jet ski, according to police.

The man was taken aboard Marine 8 and brought to the Oyster Bay boat ramp. No injuries were reported, said police.
